Geysers and Waterfalls

Geysers and Waterfalls

I’m a bit late with this one, but I’ve been working on some uploading issues for my pictures for a couple of days now.

This last weekend, we met up with one of our old friends we got to know at Aalborg Technical Collage. Björgvin (that’s his name) moved to Denmark for 5 years to get his education as an IT-Supporter and is now living back home in Reykjavik with his wife Björk. He was very exited when I first told him that Anders and I were moving to Reykjavik for a longer period of time, and promised us that he would take us to see all kinds of stuff, like geysers and waterfalls. And so he did.

We started a 5 hour drive on Saturday morning at 10am.

Our first stop was at a tourist place called Geysir. And as the name emplies, a couple of active Geysers were around with weird foggy and swampy landscapes around it.

We then drove on to see a nearby waterfall which, according to Björgvin, is the 2nd largest in Iceland. I can’t remember its name though :(

We took a long detour home, eventually ending up in some mountains where we had to turn back because of some snow covering the road.

At one point, we approached a water supplying plant that uses the geothermal activity to heat water for some parts of Reykjavik. This thick steam smells very awful, almost like rotten eggs, and Anders almost puked in the back seat :)

All this was last weekend…

Since then, we have got an trainee-contract with EJS and a big apartment, which is more of a house really, ready for our return to Reykjavik at around May 1th.

We will return to Denmark next Saturday. I need some time to give up my apartment and pack everything down so it may be shipped to Reykjavik as soon as possible.

Bye bye.

  1. I am interested what Website cms your web site is built on? It looks actually good and I like all the visitor functions that are available. Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this then again I wasn’t sure how to speak to you – bless you.
